Nita Lowey courts Rockland voters
NEW CITY — Rep. Nita Lowey spent parts of the past three days touring Rockland County, unofficially beginning her campaign against Republican rival Joseph Carvin in the newly revamped 17th Congressional District.
The district now includes all of Rockland and much of central and northern Westchester County, made up of some 700,000 residents.
“I have to introduce myself to 350,000 new people,” Lowey said Monday during a break at Clarkstown Town Hall in New City.
“I have to get out there to talk to people, visit with people and try and understand every part of the district,” she said.

State Senator, Westchester County
As one of the Country's most powerful members of Congress, Nita Lowey has always been a true grassroots advocate for the people she represents in Westchester and Rockland counties. For years she has been able to balance the demands of being in Washington and in her district because she understands how to deliver real results that make people's lives better every day. I'm proud to endorse Nita Lowey for another term in Congress.
