Nita Lowey courts Rockland voters
NEW CITY — Rep. Nita Lowey spent parts of the past three days touring Rockland County, unofficially beginning her campaign against Republican rival Joseph Carvin in the newly revamped 17th Congressional District.
The district now includes all of Rockland and much of central and northern Westchester County, made up of some 700,000 residents.
“I have to introduce myself to 350,000 new people,” Lowey said Monday during a break at Clarkstown Town Hall in New City.
“I have to get out there to talk to people, visit with people and try and understand every part of the district,” she said.

Westchester County Legislator
I am proud to endorse Congresswoman Nita Lowey with whom I worked both at the local level of government during my tenure as a Member of the City of White Plains Common Council and now in my role as a Westchester County Legislator. Congresswoman Lowey is always there for her partners in government, working together to improve the quality of life for her constituents and fighting for the values that they've elected her to protect.
